To learn more about the Code\u2019s new provisions and the dates the amendments will come into effect, please refer to the new SAAQ microsite. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transports.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/code-securite-routiere\/Pages\/csr.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Click here for more information on the amendments.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When cycling, specific rules apply, such as obeying signs and signals and traffic lights. Some things are also prohibited, like riding on sidewalks\u2014except in certain cases where necessary, or where directed or authorized to do so by a sign or signal\u2014as well as riding while wearing earphones or headphones.
