The new makerspace at the Westmount Public Library, The Studio, will be inaugurated on Friday, October 18, 2024.<\/strong> This newly renovated space will act as a community workshop equipped with exciting technologies available to all.<\/p>\n

Located at the park level of the Library near the children’s department, and with its own accessible entrance facing the Westmount Park playground, The Studio will host educational workshops focusing on STEAM programming (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), fibre arts and audiovisual creation. Outside of scheduled activities, a Studio animator will always be present during opening hours to assist visitors with the different tools and technologies.<\/p>\n

An open house event will mark The Studio’s inauguration.<\/strong> The public is invited to meet the animation team who will demonstrate what The Studio has to offer: 3D printing, audiovisual equipment, robotics sets, textile equipment and more! Mayor Christina M. Smith and members of the municipal council will also be on hand to inaugurate the space, and cupcakes will be served to celebrate the occasion.<\/p>\n
