{"id":102515,"date":"2024-06-07T09:16:27","date_gmt":"2024-06-07T13:16:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.westmount.org\/?p=102515"},"modified":"2024-06-07T09:18:50","modified_gmt":"2024-06-07T13:18:50","slug":"commemorative-mural-for-the-citys-150th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.westmount.org\/en\/commemorative-mural-for-the-citys-150th-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"Commemorative mural for the City\u2019s 150th anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of Westmount\u2019s 150th-anniversary\u00a0celebrations, a commemorative mural will be painted on one of the walls adjacent to the Greene public parking lot (south of Rue Sherbrooke, <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">next<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to 1368 <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">av.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Greene). <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The mural will be created by renowned Montreal urban artist <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whatisadam.com\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WhatIsAdam<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (Adam Vieira) from Station 16 Gallery located in the heart of the Quartier Greene.\u00a0 <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This first urban public art project commissioned by the City of Westmount will represent the dynamism, beauty and diversity of the City and its community.<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparations for the mural<br \/>\n<\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Work on the mural will begin on Monday, June 10, 2024, and the unveiling will take place on Saturday, June 15. During the work and the inauguration event, many spaces in this public parking lot will be unavailable<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inauguration of the mural on Saturday, June 15<br \/>\n<\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A block party in the parking lot will take place on June 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to unveil this work of art. <\/span>All are invited to attend this festive event around the mural and to celebrate Westmount\u2019s 150th Anniversary and its community. Free refreshments, music (DJ on site), entertainment, and a cash bar will be available. Families are welcome.
