Westmount Park was created in 1892 and was renamed Victoria Jubilee Park in 1898, in honour of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. It is the city’s oldest park and has undergone many changes over the years, as it was expanded west, north and east to its current 26.19 acres.
It is time to invest in this jewel!
Council has committed to consult residents to improve Westmount Park’s accessibility, inclusiveness, and sustainability while preserving its heritage value. A plan will be developed from the consultations and implemented over several years to minimize the impact on users.
Earlier this year, the firm of Stantec was awarded a contract to carry out public consultations concerning Westmount Park. The first initiative will be a survey for all residents about their use of Westmount Park, which will be conducted from October 28th to November 18th. It will be available on the city’s new citizen engagement platform at engagewww2.westmount.org as of October 28. Paper copies are available at Westmount Public Library and should be returned to the Library.
