Spring Seasonal Reminders
With the arrival of spring, here are some important guidelines to ensure an enjoyable spring season in Westmount:
Street Cleaning
Parking restrictions for street sweepers begin on April 1.
Pay special attention to signage before parking your vehicle to ensure that the way is clear for Public Works teams to carry out street cleaning operations. Tickets may be issued for any vehicle parked in a sweeper zone.
Leaf Blowers
The use of electric leaf blowers is permitted during a specified period:
- The use of electric leaf blowers is permitted from October 1 to May 31, Monday to Saturday (except holidays), from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The use of electric leaf blowers is prohibited from June 1 to September 30.
Be advised that the use of gas-powered leaf blowers is prohibited in Westmount.
Contractors wishing to use leaf blowers in Westmount must first obtain a landscaping permit from the City.
During the bird migration period from April 16 to June 15, dogs in Summit Woods must be kept on leash AT ALL TIMES. This is important for nesting birds as well as the underbrush plant growth.
