Shinny Hockey and General Skating at the WRC
The Westmount Recreation Centre (WRC) will open on weekends starting Saturday, July 25th, for shinny hockey and general skating.
Due to the very rigid guidelines set forth by the Direction régionale de la santé publique, the rink programming has been modified in order to maximize the safety of the staff, players and skaters.
Rink access:
The rink will open on Saturday, July 25th.
Access is limited to Westmount 2020 Facility Membership Card-holders only and a reservation must be made through the Activitek registration system at the following web link:
Reservations can be made on Wednesdays at 12 noon for the upcoming weekend.
The rink access will be via the Academy Road entrance to the WRC. Participants will be given 10 minutes prior and after the allotted activity time to change. Only participants may enter the building, however, children in the 10 years and under category may have one guardian with them in the building but not on the ice.
Hockey is Shinny only, required equipment is a helmet with a face shield, neck guard and gloves.
No lessons or private instruction will be allowed.
Masks required to and from changing rooms.
Schedule:
Saturday –
- 9:00 to 9:50 a.m. : Shinny hockey for 10 years old and under
- 10:30 to 11:20 a.m. : Shinny hockey for 11 to 15 years old
- 12:00 to 12:50 p.m. : Shinny hockey for 16 to 34 years old
- 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. : Shinny hockey for 35 years old and over
- 3:00 to 3:50 p.m. : General skating
- 4:30 to 5:20 p.m. : General skating
Sunday –
- 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. : General skating
Maximum capacities:
- Shinny hockey: 16
- General skating: 32
Health and safety measures
- Wash your hands before entering the premises.
- Keep a distance of at least 2 meters between yourself and others.
