New garbage cans in Westmount

Westmount’s Public Works Department is proud to announce the launch of its brand new street waste cans. The need to replace the City’s ageing and weathered garbage cans has been quite evident to the department, which is actively replacing 62 of its street cans by new double garbage and recycling receptacles. Phase one concentrates on the replacement of streets bins, and phase two, starting in spring 2021, will concentrate on the replacement of garbage containers in the parks.

The City aims in keeping Westmount clean and providing public waste receptacles not only for garbage residue, but also for recyclable items. To achieve this goal, we ask of residents to look at the illustrations on the bins in order to properly dispose of their waste into the appropriate receptacle, and to refrain from leaving trash on top or around the cans. The City would also like to remind that it is prohibited to put private waste (garbage, recycling, green waste, etc.) into public cans. We appreciate your collaboration.
