Maintenance on City’s water mains : April 22 to September 1st – UPDATE

The City of Westmount will be carrying out maintenance work on its water mains network. This maintenance work is necessary to ensure the quality of the drinking water and to maintain the condition of the City water mains. This flushing and hydrant inspection is also essential for public safety in the event of a fire.

Period of work:

The work will be carried out in zones (see map below), from April 22 to September 1, between 12:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Work on Zone 1 began on Monday April, 22.

Anticipated impacts:

• Water will remain drinkable during the works.
• There may be a slight drop in water pressure, with or without a reddish discolouration. If this occurs, please let the cold water run in your bathtub until it returns to its normal colour.
• The work will have no impact on the use of your bath or shower. Please leave the cold water running in your bathtub if it appears reddish in colour.
• A notice will be distributed if the supply of drinking water needs to be interrupted.
