Vernissage

You are invited to attend the vernissage of Cecilia Torres’ Murmurations exhibition at the Gallery at Victoria Hall.

Artist Cecilia Torres uses the technique of punch needle embroidery. The points she creates, one by one, are all different and yet all united. Their diffusion lightens the form, their density increases its intensity, their multitude defines the form. Born in Argentina, she arrived in Montreal at the age of sixteen, which called her to adapt and integrate into a new community, learning its codes. A journey that lead her to question the notions of identity and belonging. How can we take part of the flock? Where do we fit in? How do we follow its movement? Where will it take us?
