Trash2Treasure: Collection of Household Items in Good condition

As part of the Trash2Treasure program, reusable household items in good condition will be collected from the homes of registered residents by the NPO Sollicité. Trash2Treasure, a program run by Sollicité with the support of the Fondation Familiale Trottier, aims to divert reusable goods from landfill by redistributing them to the community and charitable organizations.

Accepted household items include furniture, housewares, decorations, clothing and more. Upholstered items such as mattresses and sofas, as well as heavy appliances and furniture, are not accepted.

Items will be collected from registered residents on weekdays from May 20 to June 2. Everything is collected free of charge, by appointment, directly at your doorstep, and using electric trailer-bikes to limit CO2 emissions.

Collected items will then be made available to the public in garage sale format, in exchange for monetary donations at people’s discretion. Yard sale days will take place on weekdays from May 22 to June 2 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Boulevard De Maisonneuve and Melville Avenue entrance to Westmount Park. In the end, all donations and remaining items will be donated to charity.
