Black History Month
February is Black History Month. Throughout this month, the City of Westmount invites its residents to celebrate and highlight the achievements and contributions of the Black community in Canada. This month offers an opportunity to explore unique perspectives, honour exceptional talents, and appreciate the diverse cultures that enrich our community.
To mark the occasion, two events will be hosted by the Westmount Public Library and community events.
- On February 19, at 7:00 p.m., the documentary film Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story (2024) will be screened in the Westmount room, followed by a discussion led by librarian Katherine Kasirer.
- On February 25, at 2:00 p.m., the movie Chevalier (2022) by director Stephen Williams will be shown at Victoria Hall.
